anyone tell me why every time i click on the chat icon i get shuffled off site and cannot get on chat ?

Chat is working fine. Where are you being redirected to? Is it the same site every time or is it random and a different site each time? What browser are you using? If you are getting different sites each time you could have a redirect virus.

We can't log in to chat, keeps giving back information about portal access. Any ideas out there?

I've had to load Java on a couple of computers before. If you already have it, try deleting the program and downloading it again.

A few things that I know that will stop you from getting into the chat.
1. Don't use AOL and try to get into the chat.

2. Make sure Java is installed and current.

3. If using Internet Explorer make sure the Active X control is turned off.

4. Try using Google, Firefox or another browser if IE is being used.

5. Disable or uninstall any "add-ons" that are installed. They are a pain in the ass and will mess up lots of stuff. If you are a download nut, add-ons are put in before you check the little 'accept' box.

6. Create another user account on the computer and try getting in through that account. If there is something loaded beyond the aforementioned items, the new account will most likely not bring them into play when you go to this website.
