If you could somehow choose your sexuality-which we all know that when your sexuality is involved there's no choice in the matter of what your sexuality is-which sexuality would you pick: Straight, Bisexual, or gay/lesbian?

Just what I am, Bisexual. I'm very happy with it. I love tits, pussies, cocks and balls. And when I'm with a preop TS it's the best of both worlds:bigrin:

Yeah we do, look at the other posts on the theory that you somehow have a personal choice in your sexuality, you don't and someone's sexual orientation is not their choice.

I'm monogamous and married to a woman and have been for decades but I'm still bisexual and always will be.

If you actually believe that sexuality is a choice then why don't you try being lol "straight" and see how it's not going to work for you?

Well I was straight for over 20 years, but that got boring. There is only so many ways you can have chicken. So now I choose to be bi, and so far that's working fine.

Why does it have to be black or white? This is definitely a grey area if there ever was one.

For a couple of years when first engaged and then married to my ex hubbie, I wished so hard that I could be straight for him. That period was the only time I have ever wished to be what my nature will not allow me to be. It couldn't and didn't last and I hurt him dreadfully in the end which is something we both have to live with. He may have forgiven me but I have never managed to forgive myself and doubt I ever shall entirely. The memory may dim things a little and takes the edge off our shame and stupidity, but never quite completely..

Before or since I have never wished not to be what my nature was and now is. Therein lies so many tears, far too much pain and a tragedy waiting to happen.:(

Common sense says it is so much "easier" in many ways to be straight.
many, many hours of mental anguish and such like over trhe years about my sexuality would have been replaced by many hours of metal anguish over something else.
-that's just the human condition.

That said - I'm me! I am who I am and at the moment I am very, very happy for the multitude of experiences and lovers I have come in contact with over the years.

I'll stay as I am.

I voted that I would choose to be bi, but I actually realizing more and more lately that I am actually pansexual and I just like all types of people lol. Honestly I would rather have the choice to change societies attitude towards bisexuality, homosexuality, and pansexuality.

I haven't voted because I'm discovering more and more my sexuality is fluid. At this point in time I'm finding myself extremely attracted to a female that is partnered with a male. I like the male but only as a friend, nothing there is drawing me. I look around at other people in my life and notice I am strongly drawn to females and only mildly interested in the cocks of some males. So I guess at this point I'm a lesbian with a cock fetish :) That may change down the road, I may totally swing the other way. But if I do then it's up to me to act on it, what I feel inside is right for me and that is all that matters. I'm just me. :2cents:

Mickey,

I'm interested in your process. After deciding that you were bored as a heterosexual, did you at some point just decide that you would now be attracted to guys or had you previously had some type of attraction but not acted on it?

I love whom I love, I am attracted to whom I am attracted to, and my desires and interests are desires and interests...... and they do not fit any box..... so yes sexuality undefined...... and I can choose to be bisexual / pansexual / omnisexual or sexuality undefined.... its my CHOICE

Not so stupid a question.
I am bisexual and always will be.
If I had a choice, I would be 100% gay. But, my brain is not wired to be 100% gay. So, unfortunately, that can NEVER be my 100% sexuality. But, I really wish it was.
When, I was younger, I wished I was straight. But, that was never true and definitely never will be. If when I was younger, I wished I was gay rather than straight, I doubt I would be any more gay versus straight than I am now. My sexual nature and desires have been relatively constant my entire life.

ugh! This topic always seems to bring out the worst in some people.

If it's a choice or isn't, what does it matter? We are what we are whether we believe it's a choice or not....

No one has the final word on this; NO ONE--including yours truly with this dribble.....

that could have been an interesting and fair question, the answer of which would have been food for thought. Why then did you turn it into an attack by using the word 'bored.? oh wait...that was the point. attack.
If frustration with someone elses opinion boils over into sarcasm, and if then people feel less inclined to engage with you in a clear non-confrontational way, when will you feel anything *but* frustrated?
isnt it better to try and understand where people are coming from, so that at least you might feel their is more sense in the universe, rather than sheer chaos and confusion?
there is no attack in my words, though quite a bit of exasperration...

When I was once in despair over the latest turn of events in my life I was told by a very wise lady, "Everything happens for a reason." I'm not at all sure that means things are predestined from the very beginning but it does make me think about what it means to go through a change.

I think this site is a great blessing because people on this site may also be LEARNING to be happy with themselves, learning to be happy with others or at least learning that they are not alone..I know it helped me quite a bit.

I like the words you used, "who we are" instead of "what we are" :)

I suspect everyone would choose exactly the sexuality that they have.

The most logical sexual preference would be bisexual. At least the capacity for it. Opens up more possibilities.

I think you misunderstand sexual orientation. Sexual orientation or preference is about what is happening in one's mind. What actions you take is something else entirely. A bisexual person who only has sex with the opposite sex is not straight.

I've been pondering this question since it was posted. I'm comfortable being bisexual. Therefore, I would think that I would "pick" being bisexual. I accept that I am bisexual but when I think about before I accepted my bisexuality, I recall being confused about my sexual attractions. I've watched how I live as a bisexual change over time.

I may change my mind but to be honest, I think that I would pick being heterosexual. It would just have been easier to just be hetero. That is not to write that I want to be hetero. I'm not. I know it. I accept it. I even like aspects about it but yep I'd pick hetero.

Then again, I am hardly ever a conformist...lol

Same thoughts here. I often think of bisexuality as like being born with a disorder - like epilepsy. Being hetero would be so much easier. Now that winter is back, my bisexuality is returning. I didn't miss it.

There is some solace in knowing that if I ignore it eventually it'll go away.

I didn't read ur post correctly Mikey. My frustration was not necessarily with the word 'bored' in itself to describe sexuality, but how i erroneously thought it was being used for the first time as a sarcastic comment on percieved fickleness. So I figured it was an unprovoked response.

LOL!!! No worries man. As many (not all, I'm sure) married, monogamous couples with little kids at home can attest to, sometimes routine sex can get a little, well, routine. And thank heavens for that! Because of it I started exploring, found alternative interests, and pulled the both of us into an entirely new world where we are so happy to be apart of. In social settings with our friends, my wife shoots me a knowing smile and a wink, a secret thanks for me making us unique in a world of mediocrity, depression and alcohol. Our drug of choice is great, Rocky Road sex and sweet memories. :)
