I have wondered about blog usage versus thread usage. Recently, someone posted a controversial blog and people commented on either side of the blog poster's opinion. Finally, the person blogging shut down all comments. I don't blame the blogger. I think that there should be a level of respect given to anyone who blogs. I'm unclear as to what though.
I've always thought that blogs are places were we can express our thoughts and that anyone who cares may read the string of blog entries and learn more about where the blogger's thoughts are.
I've noticed a slow down in threads since blogs were introduced. (groups too) I don't know if a blogger knows that what they are blogging about may be controversial or not but I do have to wonder if they think that it might be controversial why blog? Why not create a thread? I guess by blogging you have more control over who may comment and what to delete?
At any rate, it is interesting to see the ebb and flow of blogging on the site.
