If only the original European settlers had actually been like this---open and free sexually, religiously, and other ways instead of the sexually repressed and repressive, anal retentive bastards they actually were----we probably would have had a society that turned out to be a friendlier and happier place, a place that would not have had things like slavery and Jim Crow, there would have been no mass genocide of the native people's who predated "being discovered" by Europeans, be in love with warmaking, and the pursuit of the almighty dollar at all costs that seems to be our prime concern and so many of the other profoundly negative aspects of our nation and culture.

Physicists are postulating that there are actually a myriad of dimensions that exist---with them going off in all possible permutations following different tracks---so---I hope that in some alternate dimension---this sort of thing was what really did happen and even if that America may not have risen to be a great economic and military power much along the lines of a modern day Rome---we turned out to be a bunch of free loving hippie types---living "in tune with nature" or something of that sort with that America having a bunch of very happy, laid back people!!

Maybe I can get to that dimension on my next go round!! LOL
