Doubtful. It's the Roman Catholic church. They do not like LGBT people and have said how they always will. This includes same gender marriage too.

This pope is just like the other ones and still just as corrupt as they were, or have been. They also have completely supported sex abuse for centuries and still do just giving priests, popes, and other Roman Catholic church officials who get caught doing this a slap on the wrist instead of putting them into prison where they belong.

Pope Francis also completely supported the genocide done in Argentina during the 70s.

I think many more folks should be aware of this. [1 (http://itccs.org/)] From what I gather of it, the Holy Roman Catholic Church is now disbanded, dismantled. You may still be Catholic. You may still follow Catholicism as a religion. What is no longer is the Church as an institution. Further, all corporations inclusive of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (capitalized as matter of correctness in referring to the corporation), and its sister corporation in the U.K. are no longer solvent under auspice of the Church. They are no longer granted free reign as being authorized businesses by the Church. See? The Church could grant immunity to these entities, immunity from war crimes, crimes against humanity and so on.

Well, ... that immunity no longer exists and yes crimes may be brought to jury retroactively. That means all the past sins can come to bear. And Common Law has been around from at least 1200 in England properly as it was then codified by a king, as law. It was called The Royal Law of the Forest, which gradually came to be called Law of the Land. The Church decided to use Roman Cannon Law which is now considered the Law of Admiralty, or Law of the Sea. Law of the Land, or Common Law was instituted into the Magna Carta, which later went on to become an inspiration if not outright founding of the Bill of Rights of the Constitution for America. It is the law that all Free men are obligated to uphold, not the Law of the Sea. Only merchants, sailors are under obligation of the Law of the Sea, even then only if they are doing commercial business.

But it suggested Common Law existed even before the 1200's and will continue existing. To simplify and summarize Common Law, I borrow from Bill & Ted. "Be excellent to each other." There is a bit more to Common Law but that is in large extent the crux of it. Commit no fraud, aggression toward others, do not damage property others use and if you do they can call a jury trail to get restitution and justice. There is no bench in Common Law as far as I'm aware, most issues are small claims for values under $5,000. If it is not small claims, it is issues of principle, ethics, morality and then you run into big bad wolf types such as Church & State.

Please consider I may be a nut job. I may be whistling some odd show tune out my bum too. I might not be. Look it up for yourself, decide for yourself, think for yourself. I have been for a long while now. It has begun to hurt terribly. Once you cut it on there's no cutting it off. *sighs* "Water, water, water everywhere and n'ary a drop to drink ..." Bah, "fuck the Bozos!"

The Roman Catholic church still holds a lot of power in Italy.

Like the United States there's supposed to be a separation between the government and church; but there's not.

Never really has been from my comprehension of it. Oddly, I will give religion credit. It helped create science. Religion taught experimentation. "If I smile today, let us say, then, the sun will rise tomorrow." *Next morning* "Ah ha! So I'll keep smiling. Hm, but am I now aware that somewhere on the planet someone smiles every day?"

Ritual led to Gnosticism, which led to Alchemy, leading to Chemistry & the foundations of modern science. Still believe Richard Bach was on to something regarding Is, as in the verb is, not Islamic State or anything of that like.
