There are risks, and rewards, when sucking cock. I've never known a man who didn't like their partner (male or female) from completing the art of fellatio. That includes swallowing cum.

I take as much reasonable precaution as one can by knowing my partner based on my ability to critique and assess there activity level (past and present) and, sharing test results. My test results as of two weeks ago came back excellent, as did my partners a week later.
You can safely minimize your risks and enjoy the experience, but you have to be proactive and make it happen.
