Due to the limitations impose on 'free members' with regard to message storage, I don't consider this to be a great site to exchange private messages. I do, however, enjoy hearing from others, and try to respond promptly when one comes in. Occasionally, something like this will happen.

This morning, I was greeted by a PM shortly after logging in. Before reading the New Posts, which is what I usually do first thing, I opened up the PM, which contained a simple question. If anything, I'm candid and communicative, so I quickly composed a suitable response and hit the Send button, which immediately resulted in an error message:

"(ID removed) has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her."

So check your settings to make sure you have allowed for messages to be sent to you!

I've been getting them so it must be okay for me and I can respond to them!

This site is so poorly managed, it doesn't surprise me. It would be best if they " Pulled the plug" on this site.

Not fully managed I agree. But I really hope they don't pull the plug because this is the best site I know of to discuss my personal life and learn from others experiences.

I only wish the rest of the women here hadn't left. We used to have the most amazing chats. Guess you guys will have to fill in for them...

There are two (2) reasons why women aren't on this site.

1.) There was a chat feature, and women were on it constantly! Then they would post or reply to posts. This feature was taken away. I chatted with a woman who was from New Zealand, lived on a Sheep Station (Ranch for us in the US) that was 500 miles square (no joke).
The chat feature was removed and now you have to pay to chat. The chat feature made this web page a COMMUNITY. No More!!

2.) Then there was a  troll:devil: who would attack women for what they had posted, then later attack them personally on the same thread. This went on for a LONG TIME until the "Ownership" did something about him.

It is truly sad, this site was a COMMUNITY, that was vibrant and helping and caring, Sadly, no more. Now its show me your dick, and how much can you take up your @ss.

This was a wonderful site for a long time with many super women. They were welcoming, caring, loving, living, vibrant, exciting, sexy, bright, interesting and the most amazing fun. I miss them.

While there was one troll in particular, and Drew the then owner did what he could to keep him out, he kept coming back under various names in various guises, there were others. Between them they destroyed the community which was .com and the women drifted off into the ether finding something better, or at least different and no new women appeared to replace them. By the time Drew died the damage was done and the site faded to what it has become and whoever now owns and operates it shows little interest in it or its membership. Really it has all gone. A tragedy.

Reef is right. Chat, free chat, was what made the site. It was its heart and soul. I doubt that .com will ever have the variety of people and topics it once had. It is a loss not just to bisexual people but to the LGBTQ+ as a whole.

Far as I can tell, it's not being managed period.

Spam threads seem to disappear eventually. Beyond that the board runs itself. We all wish there were more but since it is a free site and I am not volunteering, I am grateful for what we have.

A bunch of us have offered to act as moderators, it's not like there is a cost, but, ownership hasn't taken them up on it

Thanks for trying. More moderation would be a benefit for the forum.

Don't know if that indicative of anyone at the controls or is automated (e.g. thread deleted after a set number of spam reports).

You know, that is a fair point, and I keep reminding myself to do that, then I forget

I have spoken with brian (site admin ) and they had plans to update the site but they ran into trouble as a good part of the site was custom built addons for bisexual.com and if the site was updated, those parts would be lost as there was no way to update them along with the site......so at this stage, things are in limbo....

The current version of the site does not allow for many chat systems, unless they are external chat systems....

Now I used to manage and run online gaming companies, and moderation is one of the most dangerous aspects of any site because its near impossible to find people that are as unbiased as possible, and will only act in cases of spam, extreme abuse / trolling or behaviour that goes way outside of acceptable limits.......and personal bias is always a problem with moderators, specially in LGBT+ sites....

There is talk about the troll with multiple identities, and yes they crossed the line with their personal attacks on other members... but they were not the only person that drove off members from the site, some others were more subtle about how they did it, such as stances like heterosexual women should not be allowed to have opinions about bisexuals unless it was to learn to allow their bisexual male partner to have sex with others, and how bisexual.com should only allow opinions that support cheating and infidelity, not not disagreeing with cheating and infidelity, also cross dressing belongs in another site as its not the * right look * bisexual.com......

Opinions like that, actually hurt the site as it limits opinions, expression and change of ideas and ends up becoming a site where only *accepted* opinions are allowed.....something that I have seen happen in so many LGBT+ sites.....

Drew had the right idea with the rules, as they welcomed all, not just bisexuals, they supported opinions and ideas with the stance of discussion and debate, flame the opinion, not the person......

How often have we wanted a site where we can have opinions and discussions such as we do in bisexual.com???? and tho we have it, we do not use it to discuss things other than cock, cock, cock, cock and ahhhhhh cock.....

I agree with dark eyes, its not needless moderation we need, its more diverse conversation......

Yeah, I used to be a moderator on a now-defunct MSN forum and it was a pain in the ass to have members complaining to me about stuff that I didn't think was a violation of the site rules and, yeah, a pain in the ass. I agree that we here need more and diverse conversation because bisexuality is quite diverse and as we tend to see here and that includes opinions; we don't all see this the same way. Like, Tenni makes me insane with how he "rains on the parade" at times... but his opinion and perspective is respected by me because the site exists so that we can express ourselves and to also learn some stuff about what it means to be bisexual and, again, revel in the diversity that can be found here. And, yeah - y'all know I ain't shy about anything!

I understand the limit on saving messages but when someone wants to message me off-line, I have no problem giving them my email address because I have plenty of disk space to store all the emails I want to. I'll even put it here: My email address is khaan23@hotmail.com and if you wanna write me, I welcome it. I check my email all through the day and if you write, I will respond and pretty quickly. Having said that, I can again see how the system limits make it hard for members to message each other and so as not leave a trail that some nosey person could get their hands on.

And this reminds me to look and see if I need to do some cleaning up...
