Starting in the next couple of weeks, I'm changing my appearance and I'm also getting alot of health things taken care of.
Tomorrow, I am going to get my hair cut... I have a picture of what my hair looks like now (back on January 15th) I am wondering if I should cut it really short getting ready for summer or should I just trim it? Also, I have had my hair highlighted blonde before, should I go back to it? I post a picture, its not very good; however, you can see somewhat of what I looked like before I went back to my natural hair color.
I'm also making a big change, I'm moving into my uncles house, no more living on Sesame Street. :( After I move I will be going to my eye doctor and seeing if I can get contacts, which is something that can be compared with that picture and with a picture in my profile.
I am also finally treating my acne, I have been in denial about it. I'm wearing makeup something I haven't done since I was 16. I have been losing alot of weight also.
I know that most of you are going to say, its your hair/body, you do what is comfortable for you but, I really would like other opinions.
I think that changing my appearance may make myself more confident in myself and maybe I won't be so shy around guys (in person). :)

I think you look fine. if you feel that changing you hair and fixing your vision and acne will help you get a man go for it but most men are more interested in what is inside than the out side. If you feel good about your self you will carry yourself differently and that is what they are looking for self-confidence.
hope this helps
damn I sound like a mom

Okay, I KNOW! how you feel about this! It is hard to get a straight answer out of people when you ask them about appearance because of the politically correct answers floating around these days..and it KNOW! it is goddamn frustrating! haha so im gunna give it my best shot..
Glasses vs contacts - If you dont want to wear glasses thats fine (i do wear them and i like mine :P) but here is another idea.. try a new frame? go for a funky new frame (of course! this is all depending on money... but contacts are expensive too?) the plastic frames are in, in a HUGE way! Ask your optometrist to help you choose a pair? You would be suprised the difference!
Hair - I think that you should get maybe a bit more of a sweeping fringe? not the straight look. Also get a cut and layer? styling towards your face a little more? Something to frame your face. (your hairdresser will understand that... hopefully... if they dont GET A NEW ONE!) you SEEM! to have deep colored eyes in your photos as well as dark eye brows.... so maybe a drastic change is about? darker hair? maybe some red tones? but i cant really tell from the fotos in your profile.
Skin - Make up is a god sent sometimes aint it! I dont personally have bad skin BUT! there are alot of acne products out there. "Pro activ" seems to be doing WONDERS for people. A friend of mine was using it and it helped her alot. Alternatively you can go to a beauty salon and get treatments. (Again of course depending on money? i dont know... maybe you have some rich relative helping you in your journey?! hehe)
Then of course what you wear - It is kinda scary.. BUT! semi form fitting stuff (even for... *AHEM* bigger shapes.. DO NOT TAKE OFFENCE AT THIS PLLEEEAASSEE! *wimpers* haha juss look at me for goodness sake!) can reduce the "SACK"age fator. Accentuate your good parts.
Self Esteem is the key! Really!! (read my post in "curvy women" thread its kinda the same as what i wanna say here) YYOOUU need to know that you are beautiful. You will feel better ane better about yourself. When YOU know you are beautiful.. Everyone else will follow. Trust me! I know!
I think i have probably said enough here... I appologise if this seems, um, condecending or anything i dont mean it to be! hehe also for all the ( )'s but thats just what i think :)
Good luck in your journey!! You are an

There is alot I want to say to this post, :) nothing bad I promise.
Glasses vs. contacts: I have been wearing glasses since I was 2, I've also had 2 pairs of contacts. I have had oh, I don't know maybe 10 different pairs of frames, this pair that is in my pictures, well I had these back in middle school, I loved them so much I just kept getting the lenses changed out of them (to save money also) At one time I did have a thick frame, like those that were back in the 50's (some of you may no what I am talking about, not that you are old or anything :) ) with the rhinestones, by vogue, I had those for a year. I just love the frames I have now, and the fact that my lenses are transitions;however, they are so old the color is no longer there around the edges, used to be purple. I want to try disposable contacts, I had the other kind that you have to clean and put in the little cases at night. I got contacts at the time because I had braces, and I didn't want to be called 'railroad mouth' and '4 eyes' as 4 eyes was bad enough
Plastic frames? really, wow, I didn't know they made such a thing, I will look into that.
Hair: right now I have my natural dark brown hair, well its almost my natural color, and I don't really like it. I've had red and highlights of blonde, I really didn't like the red color either. I liked the blonde but, here where I live there are Mexicans (and this is not meant to offend anybody because I have alot of Mexican friends just like I do with gays and bis) and I was the only blonde in my whole reading class last semester, so I changed my hair color to fit in better. I would like something different though not just the same highlights of blonde. I think I will get it layered again, probably the wedge look.
Skin: Yes I heard that Pro Activ does work well, my doctor(NP actually) has given me a prescription though for an acne medicine, I apply it twice a day with cover up because she said that I have a fair skin tone and that I ned cover up so I won't burn (which I don't really, maybe in my pics but I am not white I am Cherokee Indian), I just need something that will really wash my face well, other than regular soap.
Clothing: LOL, I am not going to take offense to that, you said it in such a nice way, rather than what's her name and that thread. I know I am overweight, I weigh 205 lbs, and I used to weigh 250, (like I said in my original post I have been losing weight) I weight shorts/capris and tank tops mostly but where I work I have a 'uniform' so twice a week I wear, a nursing smock and jeans, now its warmer so I can wear capris that are jeans.
Nah, not condensending at all, oh one more thing, I actually do have a very wealthy relative, he's the vice president of a landscaping company here in California in 4 different cities, he lives here though, and is actually going to help me because he just bought a house and I'm packing up his old one (then I'm moving into it) and he's paying me like big money to do it. He's the one that took me on the cruise to Mexico (ie the pictures in my profile.)
Anyways, thank you for your long post, I will consider everything, you are right it is hard to get a straight answer.

Ok so, the picture I have in my profile on January 15th, has long dark brown hair, the one in my original post, is blonde, taken about a year ago.
There are 2 new pictures on my profile with me wearing over halls and a yellow top, take a look at them, tell me what you think?
I love my hair cut, its a wedge cut, she did a good job on it.
Next, I am bleaching it all out, and putting a color over it, probably an ash blonde.

Your new haircut looks GREAT!!! :)
It really makes your eyes stand out! You have very pretty brown eyes btw. :)
Careful bleaching out your hair....I did that a while back and my hair has been awful ever since. I put color over it, but evertime I do streaks now, they break off...... :(
that and I burnt the shit out of my scalp!! It even bled. ACK!
but that's just me....hopefully you'll do much better than I did!

Thank you, (((((( Flex )))))) Its very short, still getting used to it.
I' started bleaching my hair when I was a junior in high school, I did really heavy highlights, it took the natural curl (yes I had very curly hair) right out of it. I mean I used to have to use straighting gel and a straighter to get the kink out. I bleached my hair twice a year sometimes three, my cousin was practicing to become a beautician. I just went back to a color like my natural color back in October.
It makes me lose my hair if I don't use a special shampoo and conditioner, and its very fly away, and brittle.

Angel, Woahman is right about political correctness. But I've never been politically correct, so I'll just tell you flat out: I see beauty in your face and in your eyes. I read it here in your posts.
Don't worry about superficialities. There are too many people who are hung up on superficialities. There are a lot of people who want to make love, but there are a lot more who just want to have sex.
It's certaily not up to me, but I'd much rather see you with a man or a woman who loves you for yourself, than with someone who is just interested in your body.
And having said all that, I do have to confess: I'd do ya in a New York minute, girl!
Seriously, there's nothing wrong with you.

If a new hair cut or contact lenses makes you feel more confident, and act as a stepping stone to bigger and better things, then what's the problem? Simple changes like these can have the biggest effects on someone's confidence, and after all, if you dont like the haircut, you can always grow it out and get a new one.
