Have you ever moved and it just didn't go as planned?

I'm in the mist of moving to a new house but things are just not going the way I want it to.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has been through a move that didn't go the way you planned it.

I moved to BC cause of my parents wanting me to go to.
I am not happy here so I wonder if it was a big mistake :( Right now Im saving up money and who knows where Im going.

One thing I do like about BC is we have barely any winter here :) Spring is early as March while in Ontario its snowing.

HI spoiled
i just moved a couple of weeks ago and everything was going great until we got here and then my movers didnt show up. So my two friends and I had to unload the whole truck ourselves it was awful!
I guess it could have been worse but we were all exhausted afterwards and very frustrated because it was a 5 hour drive to get here and we were hoping to just stand back and watch and help with small stuff but instead we were left unloading the whole truck ourselves.
anyways thats my two cents worth
maybe others have things to share too.

the movers did ruin 2 not cheap side tables that go with my coffeetable.... and they also ALMOST wrecked my $600.00 antique piece....

I walked in the room in Ontario, they were TAKING IT APART!! I freaked and was like "What are you DOING?!?!"

They said they had to or it will break in the moving van and they could put it together. I said "You better or your paying for that....." (lol bossy I know but that was hard earned $$$$$$$ and dated from the 1800s!!!)

In BC... I look at it, waiting for the movers to put it back together like they promised. I asked the head mover if they broke it and aren't admitting it and he was like "Allow me" (sits down on floor and puts it together while Im watching) and ta ta. all put together and fine!

I wish they had TOLD ME FIRST they had to take it apart. God, I hate it when movers take things apart without telling you first.

The first time I moved, all I needed was my pick-up truck and I did it in one trip...Now it takes me about four trips using three other trucks and owners...Its incredible the needless crap a person holds on to... :paw: :paw:

One thing I like best about BIG moves is that it REALLY FORCES you to get rid of all that stuff you don't need.

These days moving trucks charge you the number of stuff you have and weight of boxes. So its a good time to get rid of things you never use or care about.
Beside, why pack it if you're gonna get rid of it after you move anyway?

This is true for all that stuff you may have in the closets being ignored or things doing nothing but collecting dust.
Or items that worked but are now broken and its now a "why do we still have this?" thing lol

Another thing about moving is finding long lost items OR finding things you didn't know you had lol

I agree!! "Don't want it out... stick in closet.*
The more you do that, the habit it becomes then one day your looking and go "why do I have all this?!?!?!" lol

I bet we all have a couple of things too that we bought cause we HAD TO HAVE IT at the time but now look at it and wonder "why did I buy this?? I have no use for it!!" lol
