I had a dream the other day that my boyfriend had an androgynous haircut and was flirting with a male friend of mine. Then I had another dream the same night that his hair was girly and he was acting like a girl and we were best friends or something. The next night I had a dream that we were a lesbian couple. It was rather strange, especially the first two, yet strangely not the last. Anyone else ever dream that their partner was the opposite sex from what they really were? The last dream wasn't awkward at all, but one thing that was awkward was when he and I switched shirts.... made me feel a bit like I was kissing myself... I didn't like that... He is straight, by the way...

Interesting dream..
Anyone care to interpret?
I can't say that I have had that type of dream but in the past I have been able to create a fantasy which seems VERY real to me. When I was acting male (which I no longer do!! LOL) I would make love to my gf/lover and in certain positions and with certain caveats, I was able to convince myself that I was female and my partner was male and I could feel "him" making love to me. In other words, I was able to transpose our roles...
That was the only way I could enjoy it at that point.
So rather than be a "Dream" it was sort of an altered reality much like a dream but awake...
Does that make sense..
Anyway, it was really great for me because I could play the role I wanted and have the lover I wanted and not worry about actually doing anything different physically.
I admit this is hard to grasp (no pun intended) but it is amazing what tricks your mind can play!!!

Maybe it's you interacting with his anima (Yay, I remembered my Jung!) on a subconcious level.
Other than that, I got nothin' .

I have fantasized that when awake, but never dreamt it. I used to wish my male fiance could just morph into a woman sometimes, and I had it exactly worked out in my head what "she" would look like and sound like and what we would do together and everything. We both really enjoyed pretending I was fucking him in the ass and other such gender bending roleplays.

I have had several dreams where my wife "grew" a penis. It was very exciting. In the dream I was eating her, when all of a sudden her clitoris grew into a penis, and her labia grew into testicles.
How cool would that be in reality!

I've had dreams about my hubby being a girl, but I also have dreams that I'm the male in the relationship. Those feel pretty good too, even though I don't consider myself to be transgendered, it would be fun for a day.

Yeah, I agree. It would be fun to switch for a day.
I've also had other dreams in the past where I was a guy. I can't remember if my boyfriend was in any of those... hmmm... I wonder...

I have had so many bizarre dreams over the years, that I have spent many, many hours 'researching' dream stuff. Some of it can be very enlightening. It's suprising how often dreams do not mean what they seem to at face value...they are quite often very symbolic.
Most of the time, dreams about people are dreams about ourselves. The people usually represent aspects of ourselves, especialy if the people in the dream are unkown to us.
If the person IS known to us, then it quite often is something we're seeing in them that we recognize as either a struggle for them...or something we ourselves have struggled with.
Switching sexes in a dream is often a sign of becoming more accepting of ourselves. Having same sex sex in a dream doesn't necessarily have anything to do with sex, but rather can be a loving and accepting of self.
If I was to guess (and this is JUST A GUESS lol) I would say that in your dreams, you are seeing the more feminine qualites of your boyfriend and relating to that aspect of him and accepting of it....but that you are sensing that he is not as 'okay' (the switching shirts) with that side of himself. It would also seem to indicate that maybe you are still a bit uncomfortable with being attracted to women or that maybe you're thinking that HE is not okay with you being attracted to women (thus feeling like you were kissing yourself from his point of view (the shirt switch) and not liking it).
But that is just a guess....

He is a bit feminine, but not too much. I met him online and I remember thinking, the first time I met him in person, that I would probably mistaken him for gay, if I didn't know he was straight. I have always been accepting of it and always known that he was ok with it too. As for the switching shirts thing... we were just being silly. I'm ok with being attracted to women... although I'm actually not all that strongly attracted to either men or women. I just don't want to be kissing myself... I ended up trying to push that thought out of my head because obviously I wasn't actually kissing myself... but it was too weird, so I ended up taking it off him. and it wasn't feeling like I was kissing myself from HIS point of view... that was from my point of view.

Just some dream interpertations based upon what you said was in your dream.
Androgynous - To see an androgynous person, suggests that you are looking to bring together opposing sides and views. Some aspect of your life requires integration.
Flirting - To dream that you are flirting or that someone is flirting with you, represents your need for intimacy and affection. You may be about to enter into a serious commitment or relationship in the near future.
Bisexual - If you are not bisexual and dream that you are, then it may indicate some sexual repression. You may be trying to compensate for your lack of sexual expression. Alternatively, it may represent general sexual confusion.
Shirt - To dream of a shirt, refers to your emotions or some emotional situation. The shirt you wear reveals your attitudes and level of consciousness about a particular situation. To dream that you are giving a shirt to someone, may be a metaphor or "giving the shirt off your back" and refers to your self-sacrifice and generosity.
Lesbian - To dream that you are a lesbian (but you are not in your waking life), signifies a union with aspects of yourself. It is symbolic of self-love, self-acceptance, and passion. You are comfortable with your sexuality and femininity. If, in your dream you abhor the notion of lesbianism, then it represents your fears and rejection of parts of your own sexuality.
If you are a lesbian in your waking life, then the dream is simply a reflection of your own self.
Girls - For a man to dream that he is a girl, signifies that he aspires to be an actor and play female parts.
