Well--you might have thought from my postings in FerSure's "Christianity" thread that I am not a person who believes in God--well I do--I just don't find "Him" in the confines of a little man-made box-I find God in scenes like those I am going to share with you here--these photos were all taken tonight (Thursday, June 28, 2007 as the sun set) in The Villages (Lady Lake) Florida. You don't have to believe in God or not to enjoy these pics....

The first ones were taken looking to the west, and those clouds are off over the Gulf of Mexico. I have some shots of the almost full moon, a bird sitting on a tree hunkering down for the coming night, and another big thunderhead out off to the east--out over the Atlantic Ocean----

On Sunday-I will be on Hilton Head Island, SC and I plan to take some time to do some shots of the tidal marshes in that area and also some shots on the beach---hopefully mother nature will provide weather conditions that will lead to some dramatic shots like the ones I was able to capture down here in Florida---

I also may go back into Savannah on Sunday as well-get some nice shots of those lovely squares and other Savannah scenes----

My oh my and my oh me-what a great investment that new camera has been!!!!

Beautiful photos Volty :) Everyone finds the Divine in their own way and own time. That's the nice thing about a one on one relationship. You get to define the parameters :)

Wish you would have told me you were gonna be down this way. I would have loved to meet you.

BTW, if you do go through Savannah, stop by the Boars head Inn on River Street and have a cup of She Crab soup for me. It's one of my favorite things in the world cause Savannah is one of my old haunts. I love that place.

I am in Savannah--on Friday and Saturday night--I am going back for my high school reunion---I do know the Boar's Head--that is some good soup--I don't know if I will have much time or not--I wish I could make it over to Melbourne--I just have not had time--I spent the afternoon in Mt Dora--that is a neat little town--I wanted to make it over to Cedar Key but did not have time to get over there either---perhaps next time or well maybe---I just might be down here a great deal more in the not too distant future!!!

Actually the bird in the pictures above that I mention, happens to be one of my favorite birds--a Great Blue Heron--they are not the most social of creatures, but I love 'em all the same-below is a pic of one up on my lake in Ohio:

Well-I hope everyone has been enjoying the photos--I am going to keep posting them if that is fine with everyone and I want others to post theirs on here as well---

At another site I visit--someone suggested I needed to do some work on the photos to make them even nicer-she told me about Picasa-a photosoftware program offered for free by Google--I downloaded it and played with my pics--some I have in this and a few more posts are repeats and others are ones you have not seen.

Some were edited a great deal--others not so much--

As before--hope y'all enjoy 'em!!!!

Volty,

Your photos are a wonderful arrival here in this forum.

I don't know if you remember the movie 'Solyent Green' in the scene when Edward G. Robinson had taken the sleeing potion/poison to end his life on earth, but the images that he watched as he passed on were phenomenal images of nature. Not that I am being morbid, but I always thought that that would be a nice way to pass on.

Your photos show a real appreciation on your part for the wonders of nature and her bountiful harvest.

Thank you,

Tommy2020

Well-time to add some of my latest editions---this time-- I have some more photos of another great evening sky--out over Indian Lake, Ohio.

I do seem to be fixated on shooting scenes of the sky, clouds, sunset and water--but they are constants in my life and have been important to me these many years---

It is so much fun to finally be able to capture such skies and scenes with a camera up to the task--I am so glad I bought it!!!

Thanks to someone from another web site---I went and downloaded a copy of "Picasa" a free photosoftware package offered by the good folks at Google.

It is simple to use and offers a fair number of nice photo manipulation tools---for now it will work for me--but I am going to go ahead and get Photoshop Essentials-it offers greater ability to manipulate particular areas of photos and such==but for most uses--Picasa is all most people would ever need... check it out and download it for yourself---

Well--thanks for the words of encouragement Tommy2020---here are some more sunset photos--

Time for today's additions to my little web based photo album here--hope everybody is still enjoying them--tonight--I was driving in the countryside near the lake--this is a rural farming area and we have several concentrations of Amish in the nearby area-

In the past week, they, like "da English farmers" have been harvesting the wheat crop--the Amish do not use John Deere or other modern combine type equipment to harvest their wheat--they use horsedrawn harvesters/thrashers to do the work--I really do love the way their fields look when they bundle the wheat up in cheeves as they do---

So--I went out in one of their fields tonight and took some pics-as an added bonus--they had left one of their harvesters sitting in the field-and that made for some great shots too--

Finally--when I came home-I had planned to not specifically take any pictures tonight of the sky--but lo and behold---out to the east--out over the farm field right across the dirt lane that runs in front of my house---now filled with soybeans--there was another incredible sky---so I had to take some pics of that--

Once again--some more pics---
