OK...I play with a lot of toys, since I cannot get the real thing. My biggest problem is that many penis-shaped toys are ribbed, veined or otherwise have bumps, etc. on them...and they can cause alot of discomfort and soreness around my anus. I have a hard time finding ones that are big enough, but smooth.

So, my questions are:
1. Do people (guys or girls) generally like alot of bumps, ripples, etc. on their toys?

2. Although nothing compares to a real penis (attached to a real person), what are some of your favorite toys (or other things used as such)?

I own & use a lot of toys as well and it takes some time to find what pleasures you and what not. If ribbed or veined (etc.) cause you discomfort, try experimenting with something else. There are lots of other toys that are smooth or you can adopt things in your home to give you pleasure - they need not be sex toys.

Many of the toys men use for anal sex are really designed for vaginal penetration that we use as well to pleasure ourselves during anal play. There in lies the problem ... Having discussed it with my wife, we think women enjoy the "likeness" of the penis right down to the last detail and with the walls of their vagina, they can feel it and want to feel it.

I find I can't feel the detail (veins, etc) of my male partner's penis during sex and neither during anal play with toys. So, when I look for toys for anal penetration, I look for length and diameter rather than detail.

If you enjoy your current toys, try putting them in a condom, maybe even 2 which will lessen the feeling of the ribs, veins, etc. You can also try using more lubricant than normal ... that also helps.

Hope this helps ...

personal favorite is a wand that has a bulbous head on it, vibrates and is smooth all over.. next is a 12 inch pyrex dildo that is also smooth.. i do have a few toys with bumps etc on them but they just dont feel as good as the smooth ones.. what i've found out is that many toys are made specifically to please women in the vaginal area and thats why there's so many that are made that way.. depends on the real thing too.. i like them long and somewhat slim, i dont go for the big kahuna, it just hurts too much... another guy i kno, has a 9 inch, jelly, smooth dildo that is quite intersesting.. it's J shaped at the base end, so she can slide it in, clamp down on it and do him just like using a strap on.. they tell me it works lots better and is loads more fun for both of them cause she can get off just as well as he can, and if their groans and screams are any indication this is one great ride..as to where they got this $95.00 wonder of sex toys, i havent a clue.. yet.

I just recently bought my first dildo and I picked one that had all the bumps and ribs thinking that was what I wanted. Once I got it home and tried it out(which was immediately, ofcourse! ), it was extremely painful! Even with tons of lube and a condom and I'm talking about vaginal insertion here. Anyways, I put it away and decided to just stick with my fingers for now, afterall, I've never had a problem getting off that way.

I think next time I take a trip to the sex shop I'll get something smoother. :tong:

I don't know if you call it a toy, but my wife and i have always loved a leather cock ring. It lifts and seperates. (Great commercial about identity theft from Citicorp if you haven't seen it).

Anyway, it does seperate my balls and seems to make them more sensitive to the touch. Comes with snaps for easy on and easy off.
