This past weekend--I had to go down to Atlanta for an industry trade show--the hotel we stayed at was the Atlanta Marriott Marquis--it is a very cool place--it was built over 20 years ago---but it is still WAAAYYYY COOOLLL MAN!!
It is very much as they used to say "futuristic" and it sort of reminded me of several movies like "TRON" "Blade Runner" and "Logan's Run"
Exterior taken from across the street of the main entrance for the hotel:

Looking up to the top of the atrium at night--this is one of the biggest atriums of this type in the world

Looking down from outside my 36th floor room--I counted--the hotel has 48 guest room levels and this is the largest hotel in Atlanta even though the Peachtree Westin is taller at 70 stories--it is a slender tube basically and the number of rooms in the Marriott is much greater.

Some photos of "Pulse" an atrium level hotspot in the hotel-(the sail like structure over the bar has a series of lights that go through a cycle of color changes and also has a large projected TV screen on it)--some of us had some drinks at this bar--very cool and it has a great vibe going:
