THE GIFT OF LAUGHTER

The gift of laughter is a funny thing.
It doesn't come in a box.
It strikes a chord within our souls
When someone funny talks.

Think of something funny.
It's easy if you try.
Jokes don't come with moving parts.
there's nothing you must buy.

Try to find some time each day.
Do something that makes no sense.
You'll not only brighten someone's day,
You'll make their world less tense.

Indeed to laugh is a gift from God.
Enjoy it whenever you can.
Don't take the world so seriously.
That's not the Master's plan.

So share a joke and enjoy the laugh.
It's something we all can do.
For in sharing the gift of laughter,
Is to have it come back to you!

If we all had the same sense of humour there wouldn't be any sense of humour. What one thinks is funny, another finds not. That's life. I look for the funny side in life, but am often asked to be serious.

Health care, financial security, crime, war...

There's wayyyy too much crap going on in our daily lives and not enough laughter. We need to stop and see the funny all around us. Heck, Medical science even tells us it's good for us (just the simple act of smiling releases endorphines, go on, do it... :) )

I get shit on a regular basis for watching too much mind numbing comedy on television, or for laughing out loud when I read the jokes in the Reader's Digest, but I just say, "fuck you guys, I'm having a good laugh, go ahead and be miserable all day at work, you idiots..."

Thanks for the smile and chuckle. I agree. Laughter is the next-best stress relief!
