Too bad more species don't behave like bonobos. Check out the section of this article called "sexual social behavior".

Some scientists claim that in the wild, they don't do that, and that the sexual behavior observed in bonobos in captivity is only the result of having a group of semi-intelligent creatures sitting around in a room all day with nothing else to do except engage in sexual behavior (like a chat room!).

Their behavior in the wild is similiar , Jamie. They engage in a very sexual type behaviors according to the authors of The Demonic Male (http://www.amazon.com/Demonic-Males-Origins-Human-Violence/dp/0395877431)
The Bonobo , which are a matriarchal society, do not conduct "wars" for terriotory, instead when they meet, the females exchange sides and have sex with the opposing males.
Chimpanzee tribes, on the other hand, have been observed (in the wild) to conduct wars for territory and hunt down the members of the other tribe to extinction. Chimpanzee tribes are patrilineal / male dominated.
