time flies when you are getting old .....lol..... and for me its no different

over the last year, I have watched friends drift away, lost in a endless sea of the next activist meeting, the next protest, the next cry for human rights.... and I seriously now question what the hell my friends are smoking.....

some I knew from the days of their fight for the right for the new zealand civil union...the so called gay marriage bill, that was actually there for all nz'ers equally, not just gay people.....

now I sit there and I watch them fighting for the human rights of others and I wonder when it will stop.... cos its got out of hand.....

I have watched them fight for sustainable energy and electricity by demanding the big power companies use wind farms .... then turn around after the power companies spent 40 mill dollars to get resource consents and permits to create wind farms, and fight the power companies in court, to stop the creation of wind farms cos they are ugly looking creations.....

I have watched them fight for increased prison time for sex offenders and child molesters then turn around and fight against the goverments increase of prison time from 3 years to 5 years... and argue that 2 years is fine, cos possession of child porn is not as bad as the act of commit child molestation

I have watched them fight for compensation for victims of crime, then turn around and fight against the new government law reform, making sure that any money criminals get, goes to their victims, my friends beleive that its not fault that criminals do not get compensation for ill treatment...that a criminal whom broke a ankle trying to escape from prison, should get the $10,000 dollars compensation..... and I wonder what happened to the victim of the assault with $35,000 worth of rehabilitation bills

I have watched them fight to protect the victims and possible future victims of sex offenders, by way of increased monitoring of sex offenders.... and now I watch them fighting against the new law that adds a extra 10 years of monitoring for sex offenders..... saying its a invasion of their rights and that they have served their sentence

I care about my friends..... but sadly my friends have joined the human rights band wagon.... and lost sight of the right to be human..... to sit down and enjoy a friendly chat over a hot cuppa coffee

now I mourn the friends I once had.... as they are memories....good memories but still memories......

as as another year in my year goes by...... I just wanna say to all the people that are talking and talking about the need to educate others, and stamp all over websites and blogs of other people that do not share our beliefs and opinions....... you are not educating the world about what the world needs to do.... you are ignoring the ones that need you as friends and support, while you are trying to shape the world to fit your view point

I understand that the issue of human rights needs to be addressed, but I understand too, the right to be human......

over the last year I have not posted much in bisexual.com....tho I still love to read the forums.....its just that i do not share the viewpoint that if somebody posts something that I do not agree with, that I should go spam their website / blog and tell them that I am right, they are wrong...... but indeed as some people have posted in bisexual.com.... accept that not everybody agrees... and that is why we all are unique

now I am gonna sit back and watch my friends go fight the goverment funding a new prison that is designed to hold nz's most dangerous criminals that are sentenced to life without the chance of release..... as my friends are screaming that the prisoners should have the rights to the internet, schooling, a gym, and a library.... cos they need to be educated about rejoining a society that they have been locked away from for life.......

and in another year, i will post another years reflection on my life....... and see what is better, worse or just plain...... interesting

Thanks for that snapshot of reality, which you were able to put into context with your personal perspective. I enjoyed reading it.

lol thanks peg...... no bones or no brains..... I have never worked that cat out

lol galactica its strange to me how my friends started with the battle for the civil union which i agree, was a benefit to all nz'ers..... but from that point on, its gone to a fight against anything and everything

I tend to look around me at the fight for LGBT rights in the USA and wonder, will the LGBT community do the same thing...... win their fight..then turn around and fight against the benefits they gained from winning their rights

I spend a lot of time wondering about the same type of thing in nz.... all the 1000's that fought for the civil union bill.... and about 50-60 people actually used it....btw, there has been no protest to legalise necrophilia, beastiality, man boy love or the right to marry our blow up dolls either...lol
much to my christian mothers disgust but she is still adamant that its coming and that gays are responsible for 99% of sex crimes....lol
