View Full Version : For my photo admirerers: Night "street shots"

Our area has one of those new "urban destination" style shopping, living, business and entertainment areas.

I was over there the other night and lots was going on--since I do like to keep the camera in the car to take interesting photos should they present themselves---I figured some photos of this place as darkness set in would make some good shots--people were taking advantage of some very warm nights-they might be some of the last ones of the season since next week is forecast to be much colder. There were young couples with their kids enjoying some musical group performing on the center's central square with the wee ones enjoying the shooting fountains lit by varying color LED lights.

People were also enjoying a nice evening by eating on the patios of many of the eateries found at the center.

The final shot is of the city skyline from the roof of my art studio's building---I was a bad boy-I went out there even though the building management would rather we not go out there for many reasons.

I was checking out your great photos and focused on "The Cheese Cake Factory" , then, got some severe hunger pangs.............. I realized I haven't eaten dinner, yet!

I like the Cheesecake Factory--but man--some of their food---many of their dishes can have like enough calories, salt, fat, and other things to make up your quota for each of those things for a week or so---so--better to not eat their stuff!!!

I think I'd more like to eat at McCormick and Schmicks Seafood. They are bound to have some grilled seafood items that won't bring on an instant coronary-and it would have been nice to be sitting out on that patio.

Love the photos. Makes me want to get in a plane and come for a visit. I love out door esplanade walking and dining. Hate to say this...I love the Cheesecake Factory. My favorite is (pardon the pun) Bang Bang Chicken and Shrimp. Decadent and devastating to ones diet. LOVED the skyline photo.

Thanks Belle and Peg--glad ya like the pics--that photo of Books&Co--that is a local bookstore-their second location--I love to hang out in bookstores and it is a really nice one----one of those kinda places you can spend hours just hanging out and reading books, magazines and other reading material, have some coffee and some pastries or something of that sort. This is the main stop in our area for authors to make a book tour appearance--the original location used to be where they went---but they now go to this location. The list of authors who have visited at both stores is a veritable who's who of modern writers of all sorts.
Come on and pay a visit Belle!!

great pics. I love towns like that where you can sit on the lawn and listen to music and / or after dinner taking a nice walk (burn off the calories you just gobbled up... lol ) and window shop..

Kids in the fountain was a great shot volty. The blur of the children added the sense of energetic motion.
